Where does the name "Haus Salzberg" come from?
The cosy holiday home, which is just a 10 minutes walk from the village centre and only 3 minutes from the valley station of the Salzberg cable car, is named after the much-visited excursion destination in Hallstatt - the “Salzberg” (salt mountain). Here you will find not only the oldest salt mine in the world, but also the breathtaking viewpoint "Skywalk Hallstatt", from which you will have a fantastic view of Lake Hallstatt and the impressive mountain world high above the centre of the picturesque town.
In addition, the Salzberg is also the starting point for numerous unforgettable hikes: For example, along the oldest pipeline in the world - the Salzkammergut Soleweg. Or you can look over archaeologists' shoulders during their excavations in the historical burial ground.
Whatever you are looking for! The Salzberg in Hallstatt is also a true culinary mountain, thanks to the cosy restaurant in the old defence tower, the “Rudolfsturm”.
And so your holiday at Haus Salzberg and a visit to or in the Salzberg will always have a very special place in your vacation memories. Guaranteed!
